If I had to give any advice to anyone, it would be never to let anyone make you feel bad for using your voice. God gave it to you for a reason. When it is necessary, speak up, even if your voice shakes. Those who need to hear will hear. Your presence matters and don’t dim who you are to make others feel comfortable. And if people choose not to listen to you – examine yourself and figure out why. If you were in the wrong; acknowledge it, repent, and move forward. Learn from the experience! Don’t let guilt or shame hold you back. Who the Son sets free is truly free indeed. When necessary, dust your feet and move on. Not everyone is for you and that’s ok. As long as God is with you, you’re good! ✌🏾
Blogging has helped me to exercise my voice. Blogging has helped me to remember what is important to me. Blogging has helped to express what I believe is important to others. Blogging is such an adventure and a release for me. That is why I am so excited about participating in See Jane Write’s #bloglikecrazy challenge for the month of November!
I discovered See Jane Write several years ago and admired this group from afar. I admired the founder of See Jane Write, Javacia Harris-Bowser from afar. I remember her talking about how she viewed exercise like she did brushing her teeth. I followed her on social media for a long time. I decided to participate in the See Jane Walk challenge in June 2020 and I won a membership for the See Jane Write Collective. I had no idea what I was getting into but it has been good for me. This group has truly been a blessing to me. Since being a part of See Jane Write, I have developed a desire to blog again and have learned the “proper” way to blog. My blog is still a work in progress but I’ve seen progress being made.
I have been blogging as a hobby for several years. Have you ever heard of LiveJournal? I created an account there in 2001 and still have it to this day. However, I’ve realized that blogging and online journals have changed over time. I could journal about any and everything in my live journal but the general public does not need to know about all the details of my life. So when it comes to blogging, I need to have a focus. At this time, I am passionate about sharing my faith but I also enjoy discussing mental health, baking delicious treats, encouraging others, expressing gratitude, creating adventures, and meal planning! Through discussing these topics, I am able to share what’s important to me without oversharing.
